hello friends,
My name is Lisa Plummer and my husband is Christopher Plummer a native born Jamaican. Christopher has started a farm and built a home for when our kids go throughout the year. It has been frightening to watch the worst hurricane hit Jamaica. Westmoreland was hit the hardest losing power and phone signal. Only seeing the news feed not knowing if our family members were safe terrified us.
We finally received word that our family in Jamaica were all safe. We are very grateful for their safety since this hurricane devastated predominantly the west end of Jamaica where our family lives. All roofs were destroyed and my father-in-law’s home was a total loss. Our farm suffered a loss of all of our 15,000 pepper plants, many chickens and 130 goats drowned.
The resiliency of Jamaicans is admirable; however, everyone is scrambling for zinc and lumber to rebuild their roofs to provide shelter and safety. Food, water, clothing and bare necessities are in limited supply with thousands affected.
With your help, ALL funds will be sent directly to our cousin in order to purchase building materials and necessities. I will continue to update progress on the family homes and situation.
I waited to post this until we had footage from family to validate and accurately describe the devastation.
ANY amount you can share is lifesaving for mom, dad, brothers, cousins, uncles and relatives. Everyone lives close together in rural Westmoreland which compounds the horrible situation. Thank you in advance for your compassion and support.
