Introduction
We are reaching out to our community with a heavy heart. Christopher Easton, a loving and supportive husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at the age of 49 years old. We need your support to help him and his family during this incredibly difficult time.
Christopher's Journey
Christopher has always been a pillar of strength for his family and friends. His dedication to his work, unwavering support for his loved ones, and positive outlook on life have touched many lives. He has always been the first to lend a hand, and now he needs our help.
Having no prior signs of serious health issues Christopher's battle began unexpectedly with a visit to the emergency room due to chest pain where he was initially diagnosed with bronchitis. He was given a puffer but found no relief. After returning to the hospital, he was given a stronger puffer and antibiotics. Despite these treatments, Christopher's condition worsened, leading to another trip to the emergency room in the middle of the night due to unbearable pain in his side. It was during this visit that further tests were conducted, revealing the devastating diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer, which has spread to his liver. Despite the daunting diagnosis, Christopher is determined to fight this battle with courage. He has undergone numerous tests and procedures and will be starting an aggressive chemotherapy on August 12th.
Christopher's Contributions
Christopher has always been a beacon of support and leadership within his community. His dedication to coaching and mentoring young athletes has spanned many years and touched countless lives. Christopher has served as an assistant coach for baseball teams, including the Clarington Renegades, Kendal Eagles, and Oshawa Legionaires. He has also coached and assisted hockey teams such as the Clarington Recreation Hockey League, Newcastle Stars, Oshawa Church Hockey League, and N.A.S.C Hockey. His passion for sports and commitment to nurturing young talent has made a lasting impact on these teams and their players.
Beyond the sports arena, Christopher is affectionately known as a "Barn Dad," always present to support and cheer on Ryleigh and her teammates. His talent as a photographer has beautifully captured countless memories for his family and community. Additionally, Christopher's willingness to help others extends to his mechanical skills, as he has spent countless hours fixing and maintaining vehicles for friends and family.
Christopher's contributions to his community are a testament to his selflessness and generosity. Now, as he faces his own battle, it is our turn to support and uplift him in his time of need.
Family's Struggles
This diagnosis has turned the Easton family's world upside down. Christopher's diagnosis has forced him to take a leave of absence from work, leaving his wife, Tania, as the sole income earner while balancing work and supporting Christopher and their children, Ryleigh (21) and Reece (18) as they both move into their post secondary studies this fall. Ryleigh and Reece are both remaining strong to support their dad.
