Help Christine’s Family Through Her Fight With Leukemia

Donation protected
My brother Evan and his wife Christine are facing a life-changing health situation, and I’m asking for your help as they navigate all of the challenges that come with it:

In December, Christine and Evan were eagerly awaiting the birth of their second child. Routine pregnancy bloodwork turned up some concerning numbers, and after rounds of testing, doctors diagnosed Christine with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), a rare and aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow. Because AML progresses quickly, doctors recommended that she deliver the baby early so she could begin intensive treatment right away. We were all overjoyed when baby Samuel was born—several weeks early, but healthy.

Since then, Christine has undergone several rounds of chemotherapy, with much of that time spent away from her family in the hospital. In mid-February she underwent a bone marrow transplant procedure, thanks to the availability of a perfect bone marrow match. After several more weeks in the hospital, Christine is now able to continue her recovery from home, with the need for around-the-clock care for the first 100 days.

We’re grateful for her team of doctors, who have built a treatment plan specific to her needs. But even so, it will be a long road ahead to healing. Meanwhile, Evan is doing everything he can to keep things together, taking care of a preschooler and newborn (along with help from Christine’s family).

Despite this diagnosis turning their world upside down, my amazing sister-in-law has been incredibly strong. She is fighting AML with everything she has. We sincerely welcome all prayers, vibes, and positive energies! But there is a very real need for financial support throughout this as well.

How You Can Help
This fund will directly support Christine, Evan, and their sons. Your donation will primarily help cover out-of-pocket medical costs and lost income during treatment and recovery. It will also help with childcare, counseling and emotional support, and additional cancer treatment expenses.

Christine’s treatment will continue to span months. Her job—as well as Evan’s—has been incredibly flexible and accommodating, with Christine receiving full pay through her maternity leave. Evan is also co-owner of a small business, so taking long-term paid leave is tricky. Your support helps Christine and Evan worry less about medical expenses and everyday costs, so they can instead focus on healing, parenting, and being together.

Thank You
I love these four humans with all of my heart.

Christine and Evan have been together for 13 years and will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary this summer. Christine is one of the most thoughtful and caring people I have ever met. She has served as a brilliant leader in the nonprofit and healthcare sectors. As his brother and bandmate, I can attest that there is nothing Evan wouldn’t do for his family and friends. Together, they are fiercely devoted to their sons.

I wanted to create this space where friends and family can rally around them. From the bottom of our hearts, and on behalf of the Baude and Keelan-White families: Thank you for helping Christine, Evan, and their sons through the hardest chapter of their lives. We are grateful for anything that you’re able to contribute, however small or big. Every donation, every share, every kind word matters.
