Help Christine Torres Rebuild After House Fire
Donation protected
Hi, thank you for stopping by and reading our story. My name is Christine Torres. I have a 12-year-old daughter and a partner of 12 years. We used to live in Hanover. On May 7, 2025, my family lost our home to an unstoppable house fire. We lived on 207 November St. for what would’ve been 5 years this coming August.
That same house that burned down was the same house we were so fortunate to get after being homeless for months. We had a special attachment to every brick, every creaky part of the floors, every single window that always had a tiny little space left on the bottom even after being shut. We loved that house and all of its flaws. It was our safe place, and my daughter especially loved just being able to walk outside and see her friends just down the road.
In just a couple of days, we are going to be separated. May 13th will be our last night together as a family until we can find another house to call home. We lost just about everything and will have to start from scratch. I’m hoping to reach the goal of $2000 so we can use it as a deposit, first month’s rent, and to furnish our future home. If there is anything left over, I would love to replace my daughter’s favorite things that she lost in the fire, like her iPad and electric scooter.
We have received help from the Kindness Jefferson County group and a couple more kind people who live in this amazing town. Even if we only raise $20, I would be forever grateful. Sharing this GoFundMe is free if you can’t donate and would also be appreciated!
If you’ve made it this far, thank you for reading!
