I am a single mother of two amazing children, ages 4 and 8, and I work full time at a childcare center that I truly love. Caring for my kids and showing up for my job are the center of my life, and I do everything I can to make ends meet for our little family. Like many parents, I carefully stretch every dollar just to cover the basics and keep life moving forward.
Recently, I found myself in a frightening situation when the vehicle I bought three years ago, and am still paying for, suddenly became undrivable. My car had been having issues, so I took it in for a diagnostic test. I was devastated when an oil leak was not caught, and the very next day, while driving to a birthday party for one of my child’s friends, the motor seized. I had to have the vehicle towed back to my apartment, and since then, it has been sitting there, unable to get us where we need to go.
As the only provider for my family, this has left me feeling scared, vulnerable, and overwhelmed. I do not have another way to get to work, take my children where they need to go, or manage our daily responsibilities. I also do not have family nearby in Omaha who can help with transportation. I am asking for support to help me repair or replace my vehicle so I can continue working and caring for my children. Any help, no matter the amount, would mean so much to us. I am holding onto faith, trusting that there is a way through this, and I am deeply grateful for any kindness and support.
