Christine has been living with Friedrich's ataxia for over 15 years, which has confined her to a wheelchair and made it incredibly difficult for her to get out and experience the world. Despite these challenges, Christine has always had a love for the outdoors, art, and spending time with friends and family. Unfortunately, the area we live in has limited accessible transportation options, leaving her feeling isolated and unable to fully enjoy life outside her home.
Recently, a group of us came together to purchase a used handicap accessible van for Christine. The moment we surprised her with the van was unforgettable—her joy and excitement were contagious, and it was clear how much this new freedom meant to her. However, the van needs some repairs and body work to ensure it is safe and reliable for Christine to use. We want to make sure she can travel to places like the Kinzua Dam, art and science museums, visit loved ones, and get to better doctors without worry.
We are raising funds to fix up the van, have it professionally serviced, and take care of any necessary repairs so Christine can truly flourish again with the wind in her hair. Your support will help give her the independence and opportunities she deserves. We would like to thank anyone who donates to this project—God bless you for helping Christine regain her freedom.
