This past week, our dear friend Christine Kithcart was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer.

This has been devastating news and has obviously been a great shock for Christine and her family.

Christine’s doctors have informed her that it is not possible to surgically remove her tumor at this time. She is currently recovering from an in-patient hospital stay during which she had several surgeries to place a liver stent and reroute her intestines so she can begin to eat (finally!) solid food, since the tumor has been impeding the function of her stomach, liver, and small intestine.

She will begin chemotherapy as soon as she is strong enough to tolerate it. They are also looking into holistic and natural treatments, which are not covered by insurance.

We know all of this certainly puts financial strain on a family, to say nothing of the emotional stress. We want to bless Christine and her family who have meant so much to our community.

To all of the prayer warriors who have been reaching out—thank you! It is such an encouragement to the Kithcarts to know their friends are praying in this time of need.
