Cheryl Hansen (Engebretson) recently passed at her assisted living in Walker, MN on September 2nd, 2025 after a long battle of cancer and being on hospice.

A memorial service will be held on October 18th in Emily, MN at the Cornerstone Church of Emily.

Cheryl’s daughter Christine DeGroat is planning the service for her mother and is need of help covering the expenses.

Our family has faced extreme hardship in the past year pertaining to loss and finances. Due to such difficult circumstances and recent loss of Cheryl’s siblings, Timothy and Patricia. Who also recently had memorial services held. Finances have become extremely difficult within the family, but especially for Christine.

Throughout the difficult battle of Cheryl’s, Christine was Cheryl’s main provider.

Christine had become unemployed and had to cut her job to very few hours in order to be with her mother Cheryl. Christine also traveled 140+ miles, over 2 hours total to be with her mom on a recurring basis during the week/weekends to help take care of her mother in her assisted living.

with seldom hours of working, travel, & overall hardship. Christine could use any amount of help during this difficult time, to best help her in honoring Cheryl.
