I am Christina, and I’m raising funds for myself and my family. Since January, we’ve been behind on rent and bills, constantly scrambling to pay late fees, attorney fees, and facing eviction notices. Even after paying March’s rent, we were immediately asked for April’s rent with no grace period, and received a 5-day notice just one day late. The stress has been relentless, and every month feels like a race against time to keep a roof over our heads.

The funds raised will help us pay April’s rent and the late fees that have already accrued, cover May’s rent, catch up on our water bill to prevent cutoff, and stock up on groceries. I have been going without food most days, surviving on tortillas this last week, just to make sure my kids have something to eat. The housing insecurity is very real and very scary, and we are at risk of losing our home with nowhere else to go.

As a mom, I would do anything for my kids—even things I never imagined. Creating this GoFundMe is incredibly difficult and embarrassing, but I know we cannot keep going like this. The stress never subsides, and I cry in the shower almost every night so my kids don’t hear. Now, the stress is affecting them too. My daughter Kiki had a major Crohn’s flare-up due to stress, landing her in the hospital for several days this week. We have always helped others however we can, but now we are the ones in need. With no family left in Tucson and no support, I am reaching out for help to keep my family safe and together. If you can support us, it would mean the world to us.
