Help Christina Heal Her Broken Arm

Edit: as on 4/11, we learned that the surgery will still cost what it cost, but we would only need to pay the “down payment” for the orthopedic surgeon in order for her to have the surgery. We are almost there!! Thank you to all who have helped!!

Christina has played soccer since she was very young. She is an AMAZING woman!! I am lucky to be her husband and share two beautiful children with her, but even as an adult, she still has that competitive edge so she plays in multiple an adult soccer league.

She recently broke BOTH bones in her right forearm blocking a shot from a guy in her coed league. The ER nurses did not set the bones but told her it was broke, wrapped it in a soft cast, gave her some mild pain meds, and sent us home.

No doctor came in, and no radiologist read out the X-rays to her. So we were in the blind as to how bad it was.

After her orthopedic appointment days later, we learned that not only was the ER supposed to set the bone within 2 hours, they could have CALLED the orthopedic to come to the hospital to either set the bone or operate.

So after paying $450 to get her seen, the orthopedic advised she would have to have surgery because both bones were shattered, and she would need a plate and screws.

Her full-time job hasn’t enrolled her on their insurance, so she is completely out of pocket on this and we could use any and all help. The estimate we received is between $9K-10K. We cannot afford this. I’m not sure many could. But she has to have this surgery! I’ve never started a gofundme; but I’ve always imagined the people who do are in situations like ours.

The hospital has said they won’t be able to work on her arm until they receive the payment in full. Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

Hello all, my wife Christina broke both bones in her forearm, shredded them actually, and she NEEDS to have surgery. But the doctors won’t operate until they have payment in full.

Initial estimates put the total between 9 and 10 thousand dollars. Anything contributed would help, as well as maybe sending this out to spread the word to others who might be able to help.
