Christina is a single mother of four young children who has shown incredible strength and resilience. I met her through Facebook Marketplace when I was giving away some children's furniture, and she shared her story with me. Last spring, Christina bravely left a violent relationship to protect her family and has worked tirelessly to care for her children and move toward independence.


Recently, Christina was offered a job that fits her family's needs and gives her the opportunity to learn new skills and work toward an even better future. However, the high cost of living and the impact of the government shutdown made it difficult for her to stay ahead of her bills. As a result, her car was repossessed—a devastating setback for a single mom trying to provide for her family. Christina has managed to gather more than half of what she needs to get her car back, but she needs a little extra help to cover the rest and hopefully get a few payments ahead.
