I am reaching out for help after experiencing a series of traumatic events that have left me struggling to regain stability. On April 1, 2025, my spouse abruptly abandoned our marriage, which led to a diagnosis of PTSD. The emotional toll was overwhelming, and I had to take a leave of absence from work that lasted until January 21, 2026. Unfortunately, my leave payments stopped abruptly twice, and I am currently fighting with a lawyer to recover what I am owed.
Since returning to work, my hours were reduced from 80 per pay cycle to just 16. I have been denied employee insurance and have faced retaliation for being on leave. I was also denied employee assistance fund money because my employer says I’m no longer in good standing. On top of this, I am immunocompromised and limited to non-physical labor. I can’t walk much, climb stairs, bend over, or lift over 5 lbs. I used to drive Uber and Lyft to supplement my income, but when my spouse canceled my insurance, I couldn’t continue. I also can’t do plasma or food delivery due to my health limits. I want to work and thought my employer would be supportive, but now I’m scrambling to find a job that works with my health limits. This has made my financial situation even more difficult. I am now past due two months in rent and have been behind on my car payments since November. Housing stability is crucial for my mental health, and the threat of eviction and car repossession has made it even harder to focus on recovery. My ex also stopped paying for my car insurance, leaving me without coverage and adding to my financial stress.
The funds raised will help me catch up on rent to avoid eviction, prevent my car from being repossessed, and reinstate my car insurance. I was blindsided by trauma and need the community’s help to get back on my feet. I have proof of everything I’ve been through and my needs. Your support will make a real difference in helping me regain stability and move forward. Thank you for considering a donation to my fundraiser.
