Help Christina and Mike Rebuild Their Home
Hi everyone,
My parents, Christina and Mike Santelli, had an absolutely devastating fire destroy most of their home last Friday evening - September 6th, 2024.
My mom, sister, and I moved into this house 20 years ago. My mother worked tirelessly while getting her nursing degree to make it a home for my sister and I, which was no easy feat. She created a place that was finally safe and permanent after years of uncertainty.
Mike joined our family and home and continued to help mold it into the sanctuary that it is. My mother's love and generosity for others met its match in Mike, and the two of them hosted, housed, and fed a countless number of friends and family over the years.
There are a few photos of the damage below. The fire greatly affected the entire upstairs, kitchen, living room, and downstairs bathroom. Almost nothing is salvageable from those areas due to fire and especially smoke damage.
It's come to my realization over the past few days just how important this home is to the many people that know and love my parents. Their home has always welcomed everyone who has entered it. The fire on Friday night has taken that away from us all.
In order to preserve what we have left of the home and rebuild what was lost, I'm asking that you please donate anything that you can to help my parents. Although their house insurance may cover some of the damages, we're learning that it will cover far less than expected and needed.
It isn't a home without them in it, and these funds will help them get back to the place they belong.
