Help Christina and Her Family Overcome Medical Crisis

Donation protected
I never thought I would be doing this, but here I am. My name is Christina Gray, and I am a mother of two and a grandmother of 4 beautiful grandkids. I am my mom's caretaker; she has been ill for the last year and needing assistance with her medications, meals, and daily tasks.

I was not feeling well for some time but chalked it up to just being tired from working and taking care of my mom and family. For four days, I felt really terrible. On the fourth day, I went into the emergency room after my family's urging. What was supposed to be a quick trip to the ER turned into something much more difficult. To shorten a long story, I ended up finding out that my heart had two huge blockages, one in the LAD, which the doc said is the widow maker. I had three stents placed and after a short stay was released home. My son came from his home to help me and help take care of my mom, which was a Godsend!

Unfortunately, within a couple of days of coming home, my mom fell ill. We rushed her to the ER via ambulance where we found out that she had numerous blood clots in her lungs along with a saddle embolism and a DVT in her left leg. These were fatal conditions, but we are so blessed, and she was in ICU for over a week on serious medication and she is now moved to a nursing facility for rehab, where we pray she will have some recovery. There are many expenses associated with her stay also.

While all this is going on, I was set up for cardiac rehab and was told my insurance required $7,000 for it, so I could not go. I was also prescribed a medicine to keep my stents from being blocked and functioning, and my insurance also wanted my full deductible of $9,000 for that medication. I couldn't afford either the therapy or the medicine. During this time, my son has been helping with both of us and unable to work; he has a family of 5 that he takes care of. We are trying desperately to stay afloat and keep going and make sure both my mom and I receive the care we need and keep our bills up and get the medicine I need, but we are running behind on all of it.

I want anyone reading this to know, I am not asking for pity but for help to get back on our feet and get only the basic treatment I need and help my son with his bills while he helps take care of us. It has been so very hard when everyone is suffering at the same time and unable to make headway. We are a strong family, and I know we will fight to keep going. Sometimes we all need a little help to get up the mountain to the other side. I thank you for taking the time to read this and anything will help.
