Christie is my sister and a single mom to two amazing kids, Lorenzo and Sammi. Both children have special needs—Lorenzo has a rare genetic disorder called Trisomy 13 and cerebral palsy, and Sammi is autistic. Christie works hard every day to make sure her kids get the care and support they need, from frequent specialist appointments to ongoing therapies.

Right now, Christie is facing a tough situation. Her car broke down after only a month, leaving her without reliable transportation. This couldn’t have happened at a worse time: Lorenzo is scheduled for major surgery on June 22 to help him walk, and getting to his appointments is critical. Christie also relies on her car to work and provide for her family, so this breakdown has made everything much more stressful.
