Christie Lynn Lawrence and Lorien Brightbill lost their lovely home (and her beautiful, uninsured grand piano) in the Eaton Fire on January 8. As you know, money from insurance is slow to come, whether it be reimbursement for living expenses or to rebuild. They ran out of their home at 5 in the morning with the things they could think to grab as the house on the corner was fully engulfed, Bali and Benini in tow.

They are currently staying with me in Pasadena until they find more permanent housing. But how much stuff can two people drag out of their home at 5 am with the spector of fire two doors up. Limited everything. You forget the everyday things that you use until you reach for them; Tums, Vaseline, cotton pads, Qtips and sweatshirts All those little things we don’t even think about everyday. They add up.
