Help Cristian's Family During His Healing Journey

My name is Steve Carlisle and I am raising funds for some very good friends of mine, Manuel and Monica Palacios who have a son, Cristian Palacios who has been boxing for several years. Nearly a month ago, while preparing for a tournament, Cristian developed a headache and showed signs of what the trainers thought might be dehydration. His mom took one look at him and said, " get him an ambulance". Moms are always right as it was discovered Cristian had developed a brain bleed and, a blood clot on his brain. The good news is, they were a quick Med flight away to Riley Children's hospital which has the very best of care by some of the most talented physicians in the world. Cristian had to have some of his skull removed to allow the swelling to go down and, was able to have the clot removed and repair the bleed section. However, almost 3 weeks later, Cristian is still in ICU and has not awakened from the coma he had been placed in. I do believe as do his parents Manuel and Monica, that over time, all will be better. However, this situation I am sure, has required Manuel and Monica to put their lives on hold while staying with Cristian. Manuel is a self employed painter and Monica has a job that has been very cooperative but, I have no doubt that there is a need for additional medical expenses, travel, lost wages, etc.... I am asking anyone that can relate to the situation Manuel and Monica are in, to donate to help with some of these things and not create another worry for two very good people that do not need more to currently worry about.

Me llamo Steve Carlisle y estoy recaudando fondos para unos muy buenos amigos, Manuel y Mónica Palacios, quienes tienen un hijo, Cristian Palacios, que lleva varios años boxeando. Hace casi un mes, mientras se preparaba para un torneo, Cristian sufrió un fuerte dolor de cabeza y mostró signos de lo que los entrenadores pensaron que podría ser deshidratación. Su madre lo vio y dijo: "Que lo lleven a una ambulancia". Las madres siempre tienen razón, ya que se descubrió que Cristian había desarrollado una hemorragia cerebral y un coágulo de sangre en el cerebro. La buena noticia es que estaban a un corto vuelo de distancia al Hospital Infantil Riley, que cuenta con la mejor atención médica de algunos de los médicos más talentosos del mundo. A Cristian le tuvieron que extirpar parte del cráneo para que bajara la inflamación y se pudo extraer el coágulo y reparar la zona afectada. Sin embargo, casi tres semanas después, Cristian sigue en la UCI y no ha despertado del coma en el que estuvo. Creo, al igual que sus padres, Manuel y Mónica, que con el tiempo todo mejorará. Sin embargo, estoy seguro de que esta situación ha obligado a Manuel y Mónica a poner sus vidas en pausa mientras se quedan con Cristian. Manuel es pintor autónomo y Mónica tiene un trabajo que ha sido muy cooperativo, pero no me cabe duda de que se necesitan gastos médicos adicionales, viajes, salarios perdidos, etc. Pido a cualquiera que se sienta identificado con la situación de Manuel y Mónica que done para ayudar con algunas de estas cosas y no crear más preocupaciones para dos personas muy buenas que ya no necesitan más preocupaciones.
