My name is Robert and I’m trying to raise emergency funds to help my 28 year old son Christian who has had a medical emergency and is in dire need of help. His ability to pay his bills like rent, utilities, phone, car and future medical costs that will be adding up fast once he is out of the hospital.
Christian has been in the hospital for over 5 of the past 6 weeks since January 20th 2026 and is still in there as of March 9th with probably another week to come, and he will need to have constant interaction with the hospital for a while longer.
His tragedy started when he went to urgent care because he wasn’t feeling well. The Doctor told him it’s probably from the flu and to drink fluids because he was dehydrated. A couple days later, he ended up passing out and needed an ambulance ride to the Hospital.
His blood sugar was 1650 (never diagnosed with diabetes).
His kidneys had shut down
Was having severe back pain and nausea. Blurry vision, Fast heart rate over 150 BPM , trouble breathing and high blood pressure.
He is at OU hospital in Oklahoma. They said that’s the highest blood sugar they have seen there. After they got him stable there has been so much recovery needed.
He needs dialysis 3 days a week to try and heal his kidneys but the doctors aren’t certain how much function he will regain.
I am hopeful he can heal but it can take months, or he will have to have dialysis for life or a transplant.
They found two cysts on his pancreas and one of the cysts had over a liter of fluid drained. This cyst had gotten very infected with a bacterial and fungal infection. They have been going in every few days to remove the necrotic (dead) tissue but they can only take so much at a time. As of March 2nd the Doctor said he is about 60% done with the dead tissue. The condition he’s in still has a 30% fatality rate so he’s not totally out of the woods until all of the dead tissue is removed. They are trying to heal the smaller cyst with antibiotics since they can’t reach it microscopicly.
His vision has returned
His heart rate is better but still around 100 bpm. He has lost over 50 pounds and is very weak and unstable. Needs insulin to regulate his sugar.
I’ve flown down to see him twice so far from Michigan to Oklahoma. My next time down there I hope I can visit him at his home he's renting with his girlfriend Haley of 8 years.
He was working at Home Depot and they have put him on leave to secure his job but there is no telling how long he will need to recover from all of this. He has no income coming in and his every day bills are starting to overwhelm him and his girlfriend which is becoming scary. He has a small savings but only enough for a month or two of bills . I’m helping as much as I can and realize he needs more than his dad at the point. The good thing is the Hospital put him on state charity so everything at the hospital is covered for one year. They are two young adults trying to make it.
Love paying video games together. Gardening and taking care of their small pets.
if you cannot donate then Please keep him in your prayers. Everything positive makes a difference!
Worst part of being a parent is not being able to be there when you’re needed.
Thank you for taking the time to read about my son
