Help Christian Rebuild His Stolen Sound Gear
Donation protected
Christian Guiñanzaca is an amazing human who works as a freelance sound recorder and engineer for films. Last night (8.11.24) in Brooklyn, near Broadway and Myrtle, his car window was completely smashed through and all of his sound gear, worth $17,000, was stolen! A senseless act on a person who didn't deserve it.
Chris has a radiant energy about him. Being around him, you just feel good. He's one of those people that is the definition of "good people". Chris is a dear friend and creative collaborator of mine. We've worked on a few independent films together and he always brings his passion for sound and the best attitude to set. Whenever I'm feeling stressed working on a film, he's always the first person I go to for a hug. Originally from Ecuador, Chris is very active in his community in Queens. Outside of work, he deeply advocates for human rights, teaches dance, and DJs, always bringing out good vibes.
His sound equipment is what he uses for his freelance work. Not having it will deeply impact his livelihood and the work he can get. He has been proudly building up a sound kit that has everything a film set might need, getting the best equipment he can. It's such a loss to have this happen to him. Please, let's all help Chris build back up his kit so he can keep working and doing what he loves.
