On Sunday evening, December 1, my partner Christian arrived home from work to face anyone's worst nightmare-seeing his apartment building on fire.

Christian resides with his Uncle Luis in a two-story apartment in San Francisco, CA. While everyone is safe and sound, it's difficult to be temporarily displaced from what you only know as home. Physical objects are always replaceable, but this building also holds a special place in their hearts. Christian's late grandmother resided here, and when she passed, he had the opportunity of taking over her lease. He has many fond memories of his grandmother and growing up in this unit as a child.

I can only imagine what it feels like not to have a place to call home or personal possessions. I know it will take time, lots of support, and love to get back on their feet during this moment of uncertainty. So on their behalf, I wanted to reach out to our community of friends and family to help them get through this challenging time, especially during the holidays.

We are currently unclear what it will truly cost to recover, and I will adjust the monetary goal once the damage and losses are fully assessed. The current funds raised will be used to cover immediate costs (housing, clothing, food, essentials, etc.).
