Help Christian Breathe Freely Again – Life-Changing Spine Surgery Needed

My name is Nina and I’m reaching out with a mother’s deepest hope and urgency. My 14-year-old son, Christian, has been diagnosed with severe pediatric scoliosis. His spinal curve has progressed to over 50 degrees, a level that’s not just visibly painful — it’s dangerously pressing on his left lung, preventing it from fully expanding.

This condition has deeply impacted his quality of life. Christian now struggles with shortness of breath, even from simple activities like walking up stairs or playing outside with friends. He used to be a vibrant, athletic teenager who loved sports, but now he’s had to pull back on the things he once loved due to his limited mobility and breathing issues. As a parent, watching your child lose their freedom and joy little by little is heartbreaking.

We’ve consulted with some of the top pediatric orthopedic specialists, and Christian’s case is urgent. Without corrective spine surgery, he risks further curvature, permanent respiratory complications, and loss of mobility. The good news is — there is hope. We’ve found a highly specialized surgical team in New Jersey with the expertise to help him. Unfortunately, because this surgery is out of state and not fully covered by our insurance, we’re responsible for the $50,000 surgeon’s fee — just to move forward.
