Between 11 states and over 1,500 applicants, Christian Lawson, a sophomore at King's Fork High School, will represent Suffolk City Public Schools at the 2026 American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) Southern Region Honor Choirs. Christian has successfully auditioned and earned a seat in this prestigious ensemble, which will perform during the ACDA Southern Region Conference, "Prism of Voices," in Memphis, Tennessee, from March 4–7, 2026. Selection for this honor is highly competitive, drawing top student vocalists from across the southern United States. His acceptance is a testament to his dedication and the exceptional leadership of King's Fork Choral Director, Dante Copeland.

Participation in this event offers a unique opportunity to showcase the high caliber of Suffolk's arts education on a regional stage. To ensure Christian can participate, we are seeking assistance with the costs associated with the trip, including the registration fee, travel to Memphis, and lodging expenses. Christian will be chaperoned for the duration of the event by his mother, Karen Lawson, who is also a dedicated SPS Kindergarten teacher at Oakland Elementary School in Suffolk, VA.

We are grateful for any support to help Christian represent his school and community at this prestigious event. Your generosity will help make this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity possible for him. Thank you for believing in his talent and supporting his journey!
