Meet Christian Evans; a fifteen-year-old native Californian and true “Cowboy.” Christian is a fifteen-year-old with a heart as big as the open range and the grit of a true cowboy. Since the age of two, he’s been drawn to the saddle, the rope, and the thrill of rodeo. Although it’s only natural, Christian is a third-generation cowboy. In an era where we haven’t seen many heroes in 2025, we have one in training.
Christian is authentically working and training: from mucking out stalls to calf roping. Christian is the real deal. He has been training with the pros and even touring with the famed Bill Picket Invitational Rodeo. While other young men his age spent their summer at water and amusement parks, Christian assists, travels, trains, and rides with the pros from Fresno to Texas, to Georgia to Louisiana. His focus and dedication even impressed the veterans.
Rodeo isn’t just a sport for him—it’s a way of life. From early morning chores to late-night practices, he’s committed to perfecting his skills, showing sportsmanship, and keeping the cowboy spirit alive. He competes in calf roping and has already achieved high entries to attend hierarchy riding clinics through sheer determination and courage.
Christian, like his name indicates, is a follower of Christ. He assists with food giveaways at his local church every month. During the holidays, he donates his time to assist with the toy & back-to-school drives/giveaways as well. But rodeo comes with high costs—entry fees, travel, gear, feed for his horse, and safety equipment all add up quickly. As his parent, I am proud to support his passion, but we need help to keep him in the arena chasing his dreams.
