I met Christiam Junez Alcocer in Nicaragua 8 years ago when he, as a kind stranger, stepped in and interrupted scammers trying to take advantage of me, a Canadian traveller.
Since then, we have stayed friends and I have helped him on occasion with the costs of training or licensing for different types of work.
Unfortunately Nicaragua is a tough lace economically, and for the last two weeks Christiam has been selling as many vegetables as he can to pay for his Father's funeral.
Santiago Junez Zapata was tragically killed in a vehicular accident on March 11th.
Christiam has raised and paid over 50% of the funeral costs, but is under pressure to come up with the remaining funds.
It is my hope that enough people unite to help this young man meet these financial obligations so he can grieve the loss of his Father with out this economic pressure.
In Nicaragua, $5 or $10 dollars Canadian goes a long way, but a funeral can set someone back months and months.
Thank you for your consideration. I will send whatever funds we raise to him tomorrow, as the debt is due and anything will help greatly.
