My journey over the past five years has been incredibly difficult. After undergoing several surgeries, my life changed forever when my husband was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain cancer just six months after we were married. Losing him was devastating, and in the aftermath, I found myself becoming dependent on Xanax and pain medication. Despite my best efforts, I couldn't break free from addiction on my own. It wasn't until recently that I made the decision to seek help and was accepted into a detoxification program.
While I'm grateful to finally be on the path to recovery, being in treatment has created new challenges. I am unable to work during my 45-day program, and I wasn't approved for FMLA or short-term disability. This means I have no income to cover my rent, car note, car insurance, and a couple of prescriptions that my insurance won't cover. I'm doing this on my own, and the stress of unpaid bills is overwhelming.
I'm reaching out for help so I can focus on my recovery and return to work without the fear of losing my car or my home. Your support will make a real difference in my life, and I am deeply grateful for any help you can give.
