Hello,
My name is Christa. My family and I have lived near Canandaigua, NY, for as long as I can remember. My mother, Theresa, is 67 years old. In October 2023, she suffered a stroke that left her paralyzed on her right side and unable to care for herself.
Until recently, she was in a rehabilitation facility, but due to poor care and a lack of progress in physical therapy, my stepfather made the difficult decision to bring her home. This decision, while best for her well-being, has come with significant financial burdens. He has had to cover the cost of a hospital bed, lift, wheelchair, ramp, and countless other necessities. Combined with extensive hospital and medical bills from the rehab facility, he is now drowning in debt.
My stepfather works full-time and dedicates all of his free time to caring for my mother. I don’t typically ask for help, but I felt it was time to reach out and see if anyone might be willing to support them during this incredibly challenging time.
Any funds raised will help pay down medical debt and cover the cost of necessary home modifications—such as installing an accessible shower to make bathing safer and easier for my mom.
Any help would be deeply appreciated. My family and I would be forever grateful for your support.
