My name is Carrie Whitehead and I have started a GoFundMe page to raise money for my bestie and her family to cover their expenses at least for the next month.

On September 4th, Chrissy found out that her cancer is back for the fourth time after being in remission for 8 years. So far, she has gone through biopsies and scans with no indication of the cancer’s location. Her PET scan, the one test that will help to stage and locate the cancer, was denied by her insurance initially and is now scheduled for mid-November. To add to the stress, on Tuesday, October 14th, while at work, she began to experience a lack of feeling in her left arm as well as extreme pressure in her head. She went to the ED and was released. The next four days, the pressure continued, followed by head tingling, inability to walk, blurred vision, confusion, and memory loss. On Saturday, she experienced facial drooping and incoherence and returned to the ED and was again released as no disease was found to explain these occurrences.

Chrissy and her fiancé Jeff, an active volunteer firefighter, work for their hometown school district. Chrissy holds multiple part-time jobs as a housecleaner and door dashes, and Jeff is a cook on weekends when available. Chrissy has no short or long-term disability, and her inability to work puts them and their daughters (a HS senior and a 7th grader) in significant financial distress.

Funds raised will go towards rent, utilities, laundry, groceries, and car payments as well as monies to make their girls' lives as consistent as possible.
