Update: Chrissy is still in a lot of pain. On heavy antibiotics and will require plastic surgery in order to repair damage from the infection. I know the holidays are around the corner so anything you can donate will be truly a gift and oh so much appreciated.

Hi, my name is Samantha, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my aunt, Chrissy Dorminy.

This past Monday, Chrissy was admitted to the hospital with a severe, rapidly progressing infection. The infection had become so serious that doctors had no choice but to surgically remove the infected areas in several places. The procedures were extensive, and despite strong pain medication, Chrissy is enduring an incredible amount of pain. She is still in the hospital and is expected to remain there for several more weeks as she fights through recovery.

Chrissy lives alone, and once she is finally released, she will not be able to return to work for quite some time. She will need help covering medical bills, rent, medications, follow-up care, and basic daily living needs while she heals. This situation has placed her in an extremely vulnerable and overwhelming position, both physically and financially.

Anyone who knows Chrissy knows how strong, independent, and hardworking she is. Asking for help has never been easy for her—especially during times like these when so many people are struggling themselves. But right now, she truly needs support from her loved ones, her community, and anyone moved by her story.
