My name is Andrew Settles and I’m raising money for my brother Chris as he battles urethral cancer. Chris is an amazing husband to Sherry and a wonderful father to two children, Charlie (4) and Nora (2).

In October of 2023, at just 45 years old, Chris was diagnosed with urethral cancer, a rare and aggressive type of cancer with a low survival rate. Since October, he has undergone 37 rounds of radiation and 2 rounds of chemotherapy; both have been unsuccessful at treating the cancer. He is now trying immunotherapy treatments and hoping for a miracle.

These treatments have led to multiple recurring serious infections that have required multiple surgeries, IV antibiotics, and inpatient hospital admissions that range from one week to almost three weeks.

These past nine months have been challenging, to say the very least. Chris has met these challenges head-on and with indescribable courage and perseverance. Above all else, he has not lost his sense of humor.

With Sherry by his side and her unconditional love and support, they have faced all the challenges set before them.

Chris is using the last of his donated PTO and will be medically retiring from the Army Corps of Engineers, where he oversaw construction on the locks and dams in the St. Paul district.

Sherry works part-time at Cardinal Health in Wabasha, MN. The time taken off for all the hospital stays, specialist visits, and treatments has left the family financially vulnerable.

It would mean the world to help ease the financial burden this has caused and support this family in their time of need.
