We are heartbroken to share that our beloved Christopher Ryan Galusha, 32 years old, passed away unexpectedly in Bogotá, Colombia. Chris was one of a kind, a son, a nephew, a friend, and a veteran who served his country overseas. Those of us lucky enough to have him in our lives will never be the same without him.
Chris had been living in Bogotá for the better part of the last four years, seeking medical care for a condition he had been battling. He faced so much with quiet strength and determination, and through it all he never stopped being the person everyone loved so deeply.
Now his parents are facing something no parent should ever have to deal with. Not only the loss of their son, but the overwhelming process of bringing him home from abroad. We are raising $20,000 to help cover the costs involved, which add up quickly:
- Repatriation, the process of bringing Chris back to the United States
- Burial expenses so he can be laid to rest with the dignity he deserves
- Recovering his belongings from Bogotá
- And simply giving his family the space and time to grieve without the added stress of financial pressure
They shouldn’t have to carry any of that burden on top of their grief. That’s why we’re asking for help.
Every dollar donated goes directly toward these costs. If you can give, even a little, it truly means the world. And if you can’t, please share this page. You never know who might see it and be able to help.
Chris served his country, fought for his health, and deserves to come home. Thank you for helping us make that happen.
