Help Chris Wu's Family Through This Tough Time

My name is Brian, and I have been friends with Chris Wu for over 8 years. I first met Chris at Allen Bible Church when his family became members of our life group. Chris also worked with me at RightNow Media for a season after finishing his master's degree. Chris, his wife Sally, and their daughter Claire have shared a meal in our home dozens of times, and we've enjoyed being guests in their home.

Unfortunately, Chris is lost his battle with brain cancer on July 31. In late April, he went to the hospital because of serious pain in his cheek that was also impacting his eyesight. They discovered that there was a tumor in his face, and he began radiation treatment. After receiving treatment for several weeks, the doctors told him the tumor was aggressive, and they were trying to determine the best path forward. Then, on July 20, he was taken to the ER because of seizures.

The doctors discovered the cancer had spread to his brain and was very aggressive. The doctors determined that there is nothing they could do to stop or remove the cancer without causing serious permanent brain damage. He lived out his last days in the hospital and died in peace.

Sally and Claire were able to be with Chris as he passed away.

I am sad to lose my friend and I am thankful for all those who are providing support for Sally and Claire. They will face challenges in the coming days as they adjust to life without Chris.

Chris was a generous and caring man and the fig tree in my backyard reminds us of his wonderful family.
