Help Chris Vickers Family after roof fall and neck surgery

Updated***

Chris had surgery June 3rd and got a ruptured disc in his neck replaced.. he is down for at least a month. We are so thankful and wouldn’t know what to do without each and every single one of you.

However, I’ve struggled to keep everything rolling on my own. We’ve had electric shut off, no hot water. While we are thankful those things have been mostly taken care of.. Birthdays for kids are coming up, my tires are almost blown, and I’m just trying to not make it too apparent to them we are hurting this bad.

We are in the home stretch, but have a pressure tank ($1k) going out that if not replaced, will lead to having to pay for a well pump..(with labor closer to $3k). I also have our past property taxes ($700) due by end of month in order to tag my vehicle, and if I do not pay it, my tags will go out. I do not need a ticket on top of all of this.

I’m just asking for help on the pressure tank so I can manage the rest. I hate asking, but with kids, Chris, and having to maintain a house and a job - I’m drowning. If you can’t help, please share. Even $1-$5 helps!!

Tuesday, February 4th, The absolute love of my life tried to return to work to put the food on the table for his family. He put on his shoes and closed the door, blowing me a kiss. He had been awaiting a call to return to a previous employer that didn’t come, so he took what was offered at the time.

Unfortunately, around 2pm, Christopher, working on a roof, stepped on a rotted piece of wood. It collapsed, sending him and his brother 9-12 feet below their footing. He landed diagonally on his back, on a step down from a front porch transition onto a patio.. hitting his head and whiplashing his neck. The CAT scan showed it resulting in bulging discs in his neck, compressing his spine in his neck. Thankfully he can walk, but We are awaiting a MRI to find out about surgery. Doctors say it’s a very high risk location, and may not be something they want to even perform surgery on.

He was already out of work since Thanksgiving, and his father was thankfully returning home after a brain aneurysm and brain blood clot that had occurred January 20th. We counted our blessings, amidst all of our struggles, (me having to return to work after being a stay at home mom, and putting our homeschooled kids into public school) just thankful for the things that mattered most.

However, the harsh reality is, every thing this man worked hard for on the road in two years is at jeopardy. Every thing. We are at the end of our deck of cards, folks.

If you’ve read this far, thank you.

If you know Chris, you know he’s a kind, loyal, hard working soul. He has a lot of pride, and wont ask for help. It is my pride taking a back seat.

Any funds donated will be used to catch up utilities, bills, and assist in me being able to care for him and our three boys very much so on my own while I desperately search for daycare for our 6 month old baby boy so I can attempt to become the full time provider for this family.

At the end of the day, we are just very thankful he is alive. Please pray for his comfort and healing, and share even if you cannot afford to donate. ANYTHING is appreciated.
