Robert Silverheart was found dead in his apartment on July 18th, after his 14 year old, autistic son, Van, who asked their roommate, Chris, to come and check on his father when he didn't answer him. On checking, Chris found Robert non-responsive, dead after suffering a heart attack in bed. Chris and Robert have been roommates for more than ten years, each having helped the other through difficult times that forged an unbreakable bond between the two friends. Two years ago when Van's mother passed unexpectedly, Robert and Chris welcomed him into the apartment they shared, and Robert worked hard to ensure that the special educational, medical, and dietary needs of his severely autistic son were met.

In the wake of this tragedy Van has been taken in by his Godmother Tammy, in accordance with Robert's wishes. Chris has been left to handle Robert's remaining affairs as best he can while helping Van and Tammy transition to their new living arrangements and keep his own roof over his head. While his landlord has been sympathetic, the rent must also be paid through the end of the lease in November, and Chris is unable to make these payments on his own. Additionally, Tammy now has the additional and unexpected expenses of a 14 year old child with special educational and dietary needs to adjust to. We're asking for help to keep Chris in his apartment through the end of his lease agreement and help Van and Tammy adjust to their new living situation.

Van has suffered more than any youth should; he has now lost both his parents in the span of two years. Chris and Tammy have been taken by surprise with expenses they never imagined they would have to shoulder. All three are profoundly grateful for any support you can give as they cope with the devastating loss of a father for Van and a brother and friend for Chris and Tammy.

The cremation has been handled from outside, and we cant thank you enough!

This leaves getting Chris on his feet for a few months to cover rent, and everything else will go to Tammy and Van to assist with his move, adoption, and care. Thank you again for all of your time and help.
