Tomorrow, after 15 years of staying sane while incarcerated with the Oregon Department of Corrections, my brother is free.
Today, we are raising money for funds for a Lyft card to get him to and from job sites that will most likely be construction sites all over the city and outer limits, where there may not be reasonable public transportation access.
Now is the true test, as he is being released under the circumstances trying us all - the new confusions and wait-times with Covid. His DMV written test alone is not until September 23rd. Today is August 6th, and he is trying to hit the ground running -- because he intends to succeed.
This Gofundme is a very specific ask. My brother needs to be able to get to job interviews and to work in the time between now and having a license.
Let's help this wonderful, smart, and motivated man experience a little more ease with his transition process. He has beyond earned it, and in 2020 sometimes the easiest thing to overlook is the power that a helping hand or simplest expression of love can provide. The tiniest opportunity we give someone to succeed is the ultimate form of empathy and in this case - your humility will touch a part of my heart that is inexplainable. That said, I thank you in advance for your love.
Please share what you can, and share the information if you can't help out financially!
Bless,
Angelica
