Hi everyone, I'm helping to raise money for my nephew Chris and his mom. Chris was at trampoline park with his brother and nephew and at the end of a flip that he has done hundreds of times he landed and in that moment knew he must of broke his leg. He was taken to the hospital and after a 9 hour operation we learned he had shattered his knee and when that happened a piece pierced the artery in his leg. They spent another 4 hour surgery trying to fix the artery but were not able to and had to amputate his left leg right above the knee.
Now those of us that know Chris know that he is always the 1st person to help in any way possible and the last person to ask for help. During this time my sister (his mother) has had to take time off of work to help him while he is healing and being his caretaker. Her being a single mom doesn't leave to much room for loss of hours or income.
Chris has had very high spirits and is looking forward to being able to be as independent as possible. To make this happen he will need a prosthetic leg and other medical product to help him live independently. Currently his wheelchair has been denied so we fear that we may have to pay for the prosthetic.
