On September 28th, Chris visited urgent care with some worrisome symptoms on his arm. After being evaluated by the doctor on staff, they realized there was an issue with the radial artery in his wrist and was rushed to the ER. There, the doctors confirmed he had an aneurysm, but with no cardiologist on staff, had to be rushed via ambulance to the cardiology floor of a larger hospital, where he spent three nights under observation.
In the subsequent month he has had numerous consultations with a team of specialists, cardiologists, and vascular surgeons. While FMLA has ensured he has a job to return to, his employer unfortunately does not offer short-term disability. He has run through his paid-time off, with no clear indication of when he can return to work.
The nature of the aneurysm being on his wrist not only impacts his livelihood, but also his reason to live: the ability to play his instruments. As a lifelong musician, this is a nightmare situation. He has an evaluation with a hand surgeon to hopefully repair sensation and strength in his hand to be able to return to work, and writing music.
Obviously multiple ER visits, ambulance trips, and hospital stays is expensive. We are hoping to raise funds to help offset these costs and get Chris to a place he can recover peacefully. We appreciate any help you are able to contribute. Thank you so much.
