Hey everyone, this is not something I thought I would ever be setting up however life tends to throw curveballs when least expect. Chris was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) just over a month ago when he was doing a pre-deployment check list.
Since then, it has been appointments and surgery leaving us in a tight spot.
Chris before all of this had a part time job along with the Army and I was working 35 hours a week, now he is unable to continue at the second position and I have gotten maybe 10 hours a week. Cutting our income into a position that is not paying the expenses.
So, I am going out of my comfort zone and asking for help. Chris has a long road ahead even though it was made easier with the information of Stage 2. Yet, it is still 2-3 months before he can even look at going back to work as he must go through speak therapy, OT, and physical therapy and that is just to the Army. There is no timeline when the Army will allow him back to his second position.
We are so blessed that he does not have to do radiation however the world doesn’t stop while we work through this.
I am trying to keep our heads afloat so there isn’t more stress on his plate and be able to still help him when he needs it.
