Chris’ Story
On October 4th, my brother's world turned upside down. Chris Fuglerud was in a devastating quad accident that left him with a serious spinal cord injury. He was airlifted to Kelowna Hospital, then transferred to Vancouver General Hospital for emergency spinal surgery. Doctors removed a damaged disc, inserted a spacer and fused his vertebrae to protect his spinal cord.
Chris has always been the kind of person who shows up. He is selfless, big-hearted, and empathetic — the kind of person who goes out of his way to lend a hand, support his friends, and go the extra mile. Seeing him down for the count, after always giving so much of himself to others is heartbreaking.
The Road Ahead
Although surgery went well, Chris faces a long and challenging recovery journey. He has limited mobility in his arms, hands and legs. While there are encouraging signs already, he will need many weeks to months of intensive rehabilitation, specialized equipment, and ongoing medical care.
This also means time away from work, unexpected expenses, and significant financial strain.
How You Can Help
We’re asking for your support to help Chris focus on what matters most: healing and regaining his independence.
Every donation will go directly toward:
- Medical and rehabilitation costs
- Travel and lodging for family to be by his side
- Mobility aids and equipment for daily living
- Lost income during his long recovery
Thank You
If you know Chris, you know his big heart, generous spirit, and caring nature. This is the moment he needs us.
- Please consider donating — no amount is too small.
- If you can’t give, sharing this page with your friends and networks is just as powerful.
- Most of all, your encouragement, prayers, and love will carry Chris through this difficult time.
With our support, Chris can put his energy into recovery and know that he’s not facing this challenging time alone.
