On October 1st, Chris’s life changed in an instant. While working on a commercial mower, he fell, and the mower ran over his right (dominant) arm. Thanks to the quick thinking of his boss, a retired military medic who immediately applied a tourniquet and called 911, Chris’s life was saved.
He was airlifted by medevac to Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where surgeons spent over three hours performing an emergency operation to repair the severe damage. They were able to reattach tendons, repair muscle, and even use a cadaver graft to close the wound. Miraculously, Chris has regained feeling in two fingers and may recover some sensation in his thumb, pointer, and middle fingers over time, but that healing process could take a year or more.
At his follow-up appointment, doctors confirmed that Chris will not be cleared to return to work for at least seven months. In the meantime, he faces mounting medical bills, physical therapy expenses, and the challenge of adapting to life and recovery with limited use of his arm.
Chris and his girlfriend, Paige, are a hardworking young couple with their whole future ahead of them. Both just turned 21 and recently contracted to build their first home on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, set to settle in February. Paige works as an office assistant at a dental office and is attending school to become a Radiology Technician. Despite this unimaginable setback, they are facing this challenge with incredible strength, humility, and faith.
This fundraiser is to help ease the financial burden on Chris and Paige as they navigate the long road to recovery, covering hospital bills, physical therapy, and living expenses during this difficult time.
If you’re able, please consider donating or sharing this campaign to support Chris’s recovery and help this amazing young couple get back on their feet. Every bit of help makes a difference.
