This campaign is for my childhood friend Chris Yuri Seaton. He is located in Negril, Jamaica. He was severely impacted by the recent category-5 Hurricane Melissa. He needs aid as he attempts to recover from the devastation of the strongest storm in recent memory, which caused extensive power outages and millions of dollars of damage to the tiny island. He has no electricity and is facing many other challenges. His business, which normally bolsters tourism by renting rooms and apartments to travelers from all over the world, is currently out of operation. This could last for many more weeks, and perhaps extend even longer.

Chris, being in the westernmost part of Jamaica, Negril, felt the full effect. Negril experienced significant damage from Hurricane Melissa, including fallen trees, downed power lines, and damage to some buildings and infrastructure, leading to power outages and communication disruptions. While some hotels are closed for repairs, others have reported minimal damage, and the community is working on cleanup and recovery efforts.

I am Clay Dade. I am in Silver Spring, MD. Chris and I grew up together here in the Washington area. We played sports on the same teams as youth, boys club football…basketball at neighborhood courts. He was at my house so much, he became a part of my own family. We were inseparable. He was always joyful, fun, funny, fun-loving, positive, uplifting, had a lot of friends, and made people feel good ! He hasn’t changed after all these years later. However, this recent disaster has challenged his spirit. I hope we can come together to lift him up and give him some hope. Any contribution is appreciated. Money raised will help him get back on his feet; secure clean, safe water; buy food; charge his phone to communicate with others; pay for access to wifi/internet and perhaps even make some needed repairs to his home and clean up.
