Hello, I'm Holly. This morning, my friend Chris Davis was forced to flee from his home following a devastating fire. The fire started on the ground floor of his house as he was getting ready for work. The electricity tripped and, upon investigation, he found that the freezer in his kitchen was ablaze. Despite attempts to extinguish the flames, he and his family were forced to evacuate.

Luckily, he and his family managed to escape the blaze unscathed, however his beloved pets were not so lucky. Despite his valiant attempts to rescue them, his 3 dogs and one cat passed away from smoke inhalation.

The ground floor is destroyed and the first floor has seen a massive amount of smoke damage. Currently, barely anything has been salvaged and they are without a place to live, and only have the clothes on their back.

They have been told that it's likely to be 6 months before they are able to go back. Insurance will pay out, but not immediately. They have to pay for 6 months' worth of hotel accommodation themselves and claim it back later. Naturally, they are unable to afford to stay in a hotel for that long.

Chris is one of the kindest people I have ever been blessed to know and an upstanding member of his community. Currently, the shock as well as the pain of losing his home, his fur babies and any number of priceless belongings is probably worse than the financial strain, but if I can give him one less thing to worry about, I will.

If you have anything to spare, please help me raise money to get this man and his family back on their feet with immediate essentials such as temporary accommodation, clothes, food and other necessities. Hopefully, our collective kindness can help heal this family from this disaster and give them some kind of stability.
