Help Chris McGowan Recover from a Venomous Snake bite

Donation protected
Hi guys, my name is Tereasa McGowan. I am the wife of Chris McGowan.
Here's a little about his story:

Tuesday night around 8:30 pm, my youngest daughter let our dogs out to potty one last time before they were put to bed. Chance, one of our dogs, was trying to attack something in our garden, so our daughter ran inside and told her daddy that Chance was trying to attack something. My husband went outside after getting everyone in the house safely and started looking for whatever it was. By the time he found it, unfortunately, it had already bitten him. A copperhead snake had bitten my husband!

Fast forward a little bit, we went to a local hospital, and they immediately started monitoring him. They called Poison Control, and they advised that he needed to be given antivenom. Well, the local hospital decided that his vitals were good enough that he didn't need it, so they continued monitoring him and sent us home after 8 hours! Fast forward to about 4 pm that same day, he started getting a fever, chills, and throwing up non-stop. His entire arm was so swollen it looked like it was about to pop. It was also really dark and very feverish. We called Poison Control back to get some advice, and they got really upset that the local hospital we had just been at didn't follow protocol and give him the antivenom they suggested. They advised us to rush back to another hospital to get checked out.

At this point, his hand and arm were so big they were worried it would start affecting all his arteries! This new hospital administered the antivenom. All while he's extremely weak, his body is fighting, and it's taking a toll on him and our family. I've been out of work taking care of him the best I can, and so has his mom. The doctor says he can't work for a few weeks, and unfortunately, that has left us in a huge bind!

Chris is facing one of the most difficult battles of his life. He is the primary provider for me and our four beautiful children. But right now, instead of being at work and providing for us, he is fighting to recover after being bitten by the copperhead. A bite that has left him in and out of the hospital, enduring excruciating pain, extreme swelling, loss of appetite, and overwhelming weakness as his body struggles to handle poison from the bite and the antivenom.

We are asking for help to cover:
• Insurance deductible & medical costs
• Travel expenses, gas, and food for hospital trips
• Household bills to keep our home running
• Children’s needs including daily essentials
• Basic household items while Chris is recovering

Every dollar will go directly toward our family’s burden during this incredibly challenging time, allowing Chris to solely focus on healing without the crushing weight of financial stress.

If you are unable to give financially, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and community. Every share helps bring more support and love our way.

From the bottom of our hearts — thank you for caring, for giving, and for helping our family through this storm. We are also asking for prayers, thank you!
