We’re Chris and Matt. We’ve been together since 2018 and married since 2022, and from the very beginning of our relationship, we talked openly about wanting to build a family together. As a same-sex couple, adoption has always been the path we felt drawn to—something meaningful, intentional, and rooted in love.

Now, we’re finally ready to take that step. We are pursuing the adoption of a newborn through a licensed agency, and we’re overwhelmed with excitement imagining the day we get to welcome our child into our home.

Why Adoption Means So Much to Us

Adoption is an incredible act of love—by birth parents, adoptive parents, and the broader community that makes it possible. For us, it represents the chance to provide a child with safety, stability, and a lifetime of love. We’ve spent years building a home and a marriage grounded in compassion, communication, and joy, and we cannot wait to share that with a little one.

We want our child to grow up knowing they were wanted from the very beginning, cherished deeply, and surrounded by support. We’ve dreamed about the life we’ll build—Sunday breakfasts, bedtime stories, family trips, and a home full of laughter. Our future child will be raised in a family where they are celebrated for exactly who they are, encouraged to explore their passions, and supported through every stage of life.

Why We’re Asking for Support

Adopting through an agency is a beautiful process—but it is also incredibly expensive. The total cost typically ranges from $35,000 to $40,000, which covers agency fees, legal work, counseling for birth parents, medical expenses, and more.

We want to be very clear:

This GoFundMe is not about asking anyone to give beyond their means or feeling pressured. Instead, we are choosing to do this in lieu of a baby shower. Rather than gifts, toys, or baby clothes, we are simply asking for support—no matter how small—to help us reach the dream we’ve been working toward for years.
