We believe that God created every person with a purpose and that we should live in pursuit of what Jesus called the Abundant Life. In searching for our purpose, we believe that we have been "Called to Wander " and to share the message of hope and love with others as we travel.
Since March 2018 we have been living full-time on the road in our truck camper. We gave away all that we owned, cashed in every bit of savings and set out to try and drive our truck camper from Florida to Alaska.
We believe that as part of our calling, God gave us the vision to drive from Alaska to Argentina. So for the last year we have been traveling, connecting with people and documenting our story of pursuing a life of using all that we have to help people.
Since then we have had amazing opportunities to HELP PEOPLE as we were successfully able to travel from our home in Florida to Alaska during 2018.
Recently we began a leg of our journey to Thermopolis, Wyoming, where we planned to work, save up and prepare for our journey to Mexico in September.
BUT THEN OUR WORST NIGHTMARE OCCURRED! Despite taking care of the truck with routine maintenance and not driving it hard, we had a break down on our way to Wyoming.
We were stuck for over one week in a small town in Utah as we worked with 2 different mechanics to try and diagnose and fix the issue.
When neither mechanic could determine the problem we towed the truck to a different town for a dealership service department to fix our truck.
After three days in the shop we learned that the engine itself was beyond repair.
We were devastated.
Then the service center basically gave us the option to purchase a new truck or to pay NEARLY $11,000 to rebuild the engine!
There is NO WAY that we could afford a new truck. And it is equally impossible for us to pay for this rebuild.
Fortunately we have a mechanic friend in Florida who is willing and able to diagnose and repair the truck engine for a fraction of the cost!
But we do not currently have the funds to be able to ship and repair the truck in Florida. We also have to find a way to ship our camper to Wyoming while we work and wait for repairs to be made on the truck.
Estimated Costs: $7,200
Immediate tow & diagnoses in Utah: $1,100
Shipping Truck to Florida: $2,500
Repairing Truck in Florida: $3,000
Shipping Camper to Wyoming: $600
TOTAL COSTS: $7,200
(We are only setting a goal of $5,000 knowing that the overall costs will be quite a bit more. It is hard enough to ask for ANY help, let alone as much as we require. But we would love it if we could raise the full amount!)
An RV campground in Utah has been kind enough to let us store the truck and camper at no charge while we scramble to find solutions.
However we have UNTIL MAY 1 until we will have to add to these costs an additional $50 per night for the camping site we are currently occupying.
PLEASE NOTE: WE ARE SAFE AND FOR THE TIME BEING. WE HAVE RENTED A CAR SO THAT WE CAN JOIN OUR FRIENDS IN WYOMING AND BEGIN THE SEARCH FOR WORK AND FOR SOLUTIONS FOR OUR TRUCK AND CAMPER.
HOWEVER we are unable to move toward a solution until we raise the funds to be able to pay for the shipping and repair of the truck. Until that time the truck and camper will be stored in Utah and will begin to become more costly if we cannot raise funds to ship them by MAY 1.
We are incredibly appreciative of your support and will seek to find ways to thank you beyond just words.
We are not ready to give up on the pursuit of our God-given calling because we believe that as much as we have done to try and help other people in need, you can be a part of helping us in our time of need.
