Hi!
My friend Chris Cooley and his service dog, Larkin, have an opportunity to attend Service Dog Awareness Week in Columbus, Ohio, this July—and the event is something he is deeply passionate about.
Chris lives with multiple disabilities, and independence is something he works hard for every single day. Service dogs play a vital role in that independence—providing safety, support, and the ability to navigate life with dignity.
But Chris isn’t just someone who benefits from this community—he actively gives back to it.
He is a strong advocate for Service Dog Awareness Week, regularly supporting fundraising efforts and helping raise awareness for individuals who rely on service dogs. This event is incredibly important to him, not only personally but also as part of the work he does to support others.
Attending Service Dog Awareness Week allows Chris to continue that advocacy—connecting with others, learning, and contributing to a community he truly cares about.
Chris must secure a hotel in downtown Columbus, near the event venues, to ensure his safe and complete participation. This reduces transportation challenges and ensures accessibility throughout the week.
Unfortunately, the cost of a hotel in that area is more than he can cover on his own right now.
That’s where we can help.
Every dollar raised will go directly toward covering Chris’s hotel stay so he can attend, participate, and continue the advocacy work he’s so committed to.
If you’re able to donate, thank you. And if not, sharing this campaign would mean just as much.
Let’s help Chris get there—and continue making a difference.
Thank you so much!
Suzanne
