In Loving Memory of Chris Laney
On June 9th, 2025, a day that was meant to mark healing and hope, turned into a day that led to heartbreaking goodbye. Chris Laney went in for what was expected to be a routine cosmetic repair of a cranial bone flap — a final step in a long journey of recovery after a stroke in 2020. The procedure initially went well, but complications afterward led to a seizure that caused severe brain damage. Chris was placed on life support and on June 10th, surrounded by love, he peacefully passed away.
Chris was a devoted single father of three incredible children. Over the past five years, he fought hard to recover — enduring invasive brain surgery, years of rehabilitation, and countless appointments. Though permanently disabled, Chris regained many of his abilities and never lost his strength, sense of humor, or love for life and his family.
Now, his children are left to face not only the grief of losing their amazing father, but also the weight of funeral and medical expenses, and the mortgage on their home.
We’ve created this fund to help ease that burden — to allow his children space to grieve without the added stress of financial strain. Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting them during this incredibly difficult time.
Please consider donating or sharing this campaign to honor Chris’s memory and stand beside the family he loved so deeply.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
