Hello friends and family, this is Chris and Krissy McDaniel from Valrico, FL, and it is hard for us to ask for handouts, but it seems at times everyone needs some help. Krissy and I want to start by thanking anyone who is able to assist in any way. As you know, we were recently hit by Hurricane Milton, and it destroyed our home here in Valrico, Florida. We are working with the insurance company to fix everything, but unfortunately, the process will take several months to complete, and our deductible for hurricane insurance is way more than we expected.

They are telling us that our deductible is 10% of the total value of the home, which is way more than we could ever afford. Please help us to try and save our home and get it repaired. We lost the entire back wall of the house, and the entire roof and rafters will all need to be replaced. We also will not be able to have power restored to the home until we have the electrical in the damaged portion isolated and disconnected until all the work is complete. All proceeds from this GoFundMe will be used to try and save as much of our home as we can. We love you all and appreciate any help that anyone is able to provide.

The road ahead looks long and hard. First, they have to work to get the 3,000+ pounds of tree off the roof and tarp everything off to prevent further damage, and that alone is several thousands of dollars before they can even start to repair the home. After the trees are removed, we will use some of the money to go towards replacing lost items in the home, like all the items in my son's room. He lost everything he owned, and out of everyone, he lost the most: his computer, his clothes, his bedroom furniture—almost everything that was in that room is crushed by the tree or damaged beyond use by the water that poured in through the hole in the roof until the storm passed. All remaining funds will go towards our deductible, which appears to be around $52,000 based on what my insurance agent is telling me. A very wise, good friend of mine said angels are just ordinary people that do extraordinary things, and right now, I will not turn down any angel who comes our way.
