Help Chris Kick Cancer’s Ass! Urgent Surgery Needed

Donation protected
For those that don’t know already, Chris was diagnosed with Cancer at the end of October. We went to KU for an appendix rupture, and within hours he was being rushed to emergency surgery. He was in the Hospital for 5 days, being monitored, because he had a high chance of infection from the rupture. He was sent home with the impression that the worst of it was over. Two days later we got the phone call nobody wants to get. He was told he had Goblet Cell Carcinoma. It is a rare, invasive, cancer of the appendix, and colon. Almost exactly a week after the terrible news, we found ourselves back at KU again. He had a temperature of 102.8, and an infection around his drain port. He was there for another 5 days on IV antibiotics. He is home now and the infection is no longer an issue! We are far from out of the woods though. In order to move forward on this journey of kicking cancers ass, he was told that he needed to wait to get insurance, or have all of the money up front for the surgery. Without the surgery to remove the tumor in his abdomen, we have no hope of survival. He was denied during the first stay by Medicaid, because he has no dependents living at home. We resubmitted it again now that he has cancer and are currently still waiting on them to decide if he qualifies to be helped. We have tried other insurances as well, but nobody wants to insure him now that he has a pre-existing condition. We were told today that the CT scan alone will cost us 3,315.74 on December 2nd, and they won’t even do that without the money up front. As much as we hate asking for help, and know this is a hard time of year for everyone, we have run out of options. We would be forever grateful for any help towards the surgery, and medical bills we need in order to save his Life. I will keep everyone updated as we fight to move forward with this process. We are still praying for Medicaid to step in and help, but the longer we go without the surgery the higher the chances of it spreading, making it even harder to fight. Thank you in advance to everyone able to help get us closer to the end of this nightmare.
