Help Chris, Jeannine and Baby Gianna

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Samantha and I am Chris's sister. I am creating this gofundme to help support my brother, his girlfriend Jeannine and their newborn daughter Gianna.

Monday February 7th, Jeannine went to her last weekly check up with her doctor. Everything looked good with her and the baby. They scheduled her to be induced on Valentine's Day the following week. But the next day Jeannine was rushed to the hospital after passing out. A few hours after arriving at the hospital she was admitted. After getting her epidural they began to run into complications. My brother Chris was told that they were going to have to do an emergency c-section because the baby's heart rate was low. After waiting to meet his babygirl and be with Jeannine, Chris was then told that baby Gianna was not breathing when she was born so she had to be resuscitated and that Jeannine was bleeding severly but they could not find the source of the bleed. 2-1/2 hours later they were finally able to find the source of the bleed in Jeannine which was coming from her spleen so they removed it.  Jeannine was taken to ICU to start recovering from not only her c-section but her spleen removal. Not long after Chris was then informed they were transferring baby Gianna to the childrens hospital. Chris followed the baby to the childrens hospital to make sure everything was ok with her and had to leave Jeannine for almost 2 days. He has now been going back and forth to be there for both of his girls praying and hoping for the best.

The doctors who saved Jeannine and Baby Gianna, Dr. Elgenberg (and his assistant Dr.  Bergloh) luckily was only 15 minutes away from the hospital and had came in when they did because what had happened to Jeannine and her babygirl was very rare.  Jeannine had an aortic spleen aneurysm that ruptured, which filled her uterus with blood and depleted the baby's oxygen level. They are the 13th mother/infant pair in the history of medical records to survive this trauma.  Jeannine has a very long road to recovery her body has endured in so much. Baby Gianna also has some complications. She was put in a coma because the doctors wanted to stop any brain activity from occurring and they have her body cooling to stop any further damage that was already present.  Tomorrow they will begin the process of warming her body back up and then hopefully they will be able to perform other tests needed to see what else is going on. We are so blessed and happy that both of them are still here with us. But it is going to be a very long road ahead of them which is why I am creating this to raise money for medical expenses, gas due to all of the driving to childrens hospital in Detroit, and to the hospital that Jeannine is at. Also, Jeannine will not be able to go back to work and will be hospitalized for many weeks so CJ will be the only one working, traveling, and taking care of Jeannine and baby girl. If you are not able to donate please say a prayer for Jeannine and Gianna and just share this if you don't mind. I will try to post updates but all I ask now is if you could please take a moment and say a prayer. Thank you!
