Help Chris In His Fight Against Stage 3 Cancer

Donation protected
Chris and Jamie have been together since 2006 and tied the knot September of 2011. They have two amazing children, Gerald (LJ) and Valerie.

Some of you may not know Chris, but Chris has spent most his life locally in Grayslake helping out around town with his construction company and many locals with any task needed. Chris has always been there when needed. Right now, Chris is going to need the same from those around him. In November 2022, Chris started struggling with health issues. After multiple doctor visits and a lot of MRI’s, CT’s and Ultrasounds, the doctors concluded that Chris didn’t have what they first diagnosed as a TIA (mini stroke) and did not have MS. Which was all brought on by occipital Migraines that mimic TIA symptoms.

After going through major hurdles, late September of 2023 Chris ended up in the ER after a sudden episode of throwing up blood. After a grueling 48 hours and more testing, the imaging found out that he has Stage 3
Adenocarcinoma Esophageal Cancer. Since his diagnoses Chris has been doing treatments every other week with the
hopes that the mass will go down, along with the lymph nodes that the cancer had spread to. The
doctors' main goal is surgery to complete remove the mass in hopes to eradicate his Cancer. This surgery which will involve a very long recovery time.

In order for Chris to be surgery ready, he needs to have reasonable numbers for a solid month to be able to have the surgery. The doctor is thinking that Chris might have to do several more treatments during the next several months before the surgery is an option. The recovery time after surgery will be at minimum of 6-12 weeks before life can somewhat go back to normal for Chris and this doesn’t include the strict new diet that he will have to follow.

Saying that this has been a huge hurdle and emotional roller coaster is an understatement. Chris and his family were not financially ready for this at all. Unfortunately, Chris has not been able to return to his normal work life and his responsibilities around home. Chris and his family are now at a point where they realize that they need help from family and friends in the community. We ask if you help in any way possible to make this battle easier on Chris and his family. No amount is too little.

Chris and his family are very grateful for the support giving to them from those closes to them. Whether if it has been helping with their kids, dinners and being around to keep their minds off of everything, it definitely wouldn’t have been as “easy” getting through all of this hardship without their support.

Thank you all!
